How to Get a Jeep Badge of Honor in Las Cruces NM

For Jeep lovers, off-roading is a way of life. The Jeep Badge of Honor in Las Cruces NM is an app-based program that rewards Jeep drivers for conquering some of the best off-road trails in America. Created in 2013, the program awards enthusiasts who take on the trails with exclusive trail badges for their Jeeps, straight from the company.

How to Receive a Jeep Badge of Honor in Las Cruces NM

Only registered Jeep owners are eligible to receive actual physical badges, which Jeep calls Hard Badges, but anyone can register and check in at trails. To confirm you really own a Jeep vehicle, you'll have to enter your VIN number. You can find the app on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It gives information about each trail, including the website (if applicable) and a live weather forecast. Users can also post photos, earn points, and socially engage with others in the Jeep off-roading community.

Checking in is easy. Just show up at the designated trail and confirm your location in the app. This earns your digital badge. Technically, you don't have to drive the trail to earn the digital badge, but who wants stolen glory? And besides, if you make your way to the trail in your Jeep, chances are high you'll want to tackle it.

Since most of these trails included in the Jeep Badge of Honor in Las Cruces NM are truly "off the beaten path" you may not have cell reception when you arrive. No worries, you can check-in on your phone offline. When you get a signal again, the app counts your visit.
You can also sharpen your off-roading skills by earning trail points from the program. Moving ahead through the ranks is an entertaining way to get bragging rights within the Jeep off-roading community. There are different ways to earn points within the app. These include:

  • Checking in at a trailhead (200 points)
  • Sharing a photo (20 points)
  • Commenting on a trail page (10 points)

When you begin the Jeep Badge of Honor in Las Cruces NM you'll be a Newbie, but it only takes 100 points to move up to Trail Rookie level. As you discover and drive more trails, you'll work your way towards Trail Expert.

Other features of the app let you see the interactions that other users have with the trails. You can check out submitted photos or comments posted about the various trails before you ever get there. This enables you to get a good idea of the terrain and how tough it may be. Others may even have tips and suggestions for you. In addition, you're able to view the users who recently checked in at a particular trail. You may even make some new friends before you're done!

Just this year Jeep added seven new trails, which brings the total up to 56 trails that include Badges of Honor. These range from "rugged terrain to…steep climbs," with difficulty levels ranging from novice to expert. No matter what, receiving all the Jeep Badge of Honor in Las Cruces NM is a serious accomplishment!  You could end up having trouble finding a spot for them all!

After checking in and visiting a trail, Jeep owners can then request the physical badge. It may take up to 6-8 weeks to arrive, but it's no cost to you. And really, simply getting to see and experience the beautiful wild places in our country is half the fun!

For now, all the Badge of Honor Trails are located within the US (but a few take you close to Mexico and Canada). The 56 trails are spread throughout 21 states, and while some states only have one badge to earn, others have several. Many trails are clustered together, which is nice for knocking out a few in just a couple of days (think weekend road trip!). Be sure to check trail and park websites to find out hours and if there are any fees. Please be especially mindful of trail difficulty and choose only the ones that match your experience and abilities.

What are you waiting for? If you love off-roading, the Jeep Badge of Honor program is here to add more fun to your life, so sign up today! And if you don't own a Jeep but want to, visit Viva Jeep to discover which model matches your adventurous side.
