RAM Luxury Sedan in Las Cruces NM is in the Making

In the last decade, cars have become more truck-like as SUVs and crossovers have taken the lead in vehicle popularity. But recently, an Italian company has turned the RAM 1500 into a RAM luxury sedan in Las Cruces NM.

RAM luxury sedan in Las Cruces NM: Palladium

Called the Palladium, the four-seater sedan-like limousine was manufactured by the coachbuilder Aznom on the same platform as the RAM 1500 pickup. It's marketed as a 'hyper-limousine' and it's pretty much right in the middle of SUV and sedan in its design and construction. The company founder said he started thinking about the truck-based car project after seeing the Cadillac based US presidential limousine in 2008. Nicknamed 'the Beast,' it had unusual and daunting proportions.

The Aznom Palladium wasn't the first attempt; there was a previous truck-based luxury vehicle from the same company. The Atulux debuted in 2018, and was a $300,000- yes, you read that right- transformation of the prior generation RAM pickup truck into a sedan-like luxury auto with an over-the-top lavish cabin. Unfortunately, the truck origins were too obvious, and this is what the new RAM luxury sedan in Las Cruces NM wants to improve.

The grille dominates the front end with upright LED inserts, chunky sections of chrome trim, and headlights that somewhat resemble those of the RAM 1500. The 1500 has an extra-long wheelbase, so the Palladium has an enormous length of nearly 20 feet. It has an enormous height as well, standing at six and a half feet. At the back, there's a fastback type roofline, and instead of a trunk or hatchback cargo space, the rear fascia slides out like a huge dresser drawer. Partly weird, partly innovative.

With the large proportions of the Palladium, parking could be problematic, but they also allow for a vast interior that was designed for unparalleled comfort in the back seat. Aznom describes the rear bench seat as a throne, and passengers are privy to a separate climate control system, a mini-fridge, a Harmon-Kardon audio system, and two Microsoft Pro X tablets. Just like Rolls-Royce, crystal drinkware is included in the back seat of this RAM luxury sedan in Las Cruces NM. There is an assortment of hidden storage spaces, aluminum trim details, and an immense amount of leg room as well. The seat itself has no center console; it looks like a quilted leather loveseat, complete with matching pillows, with seatbelts added.

The big vertically oriented infotainment touchscreen sits front and center in the dashboard, looking like it came straight out of a RAM truck, but the materials used are more lavish. Additionally, there's a touchscreen control panel on the driver's door that can control the AC settings of the entire vehicle, the fridge settings, interior lights, windows, trunk, doors, and it's able to open and close all of the inside compartments.

Power is delivered by a twin-turbo variant of the RAM 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine, which puts out 710 horsepower and 701 lb-ft of torque. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, Aznom promises 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds. This happens to be around the same time for the Hellcat-powered RAM 1500 TRX and is pretty remarkable for a vehicle as heavy as this (5,842 lbs.). Also available is RAM's eTorque mild-hybrid system.

The RAM luxury sedan in Las Cruces NM retains the four-wheel drive from its truck origins, though it no longer has low-range gears. Custom 22-inch wheels inside of fat Yokohama Advan Sport tires get things rolling, while six-piston Brembo GT disc brakes in front and four-piston disc brakes in the back slows things down.

Pricing for the Palladium has yet to be released, but since the company plans to build only ten, chances are slim for ownership. The chance to own a regular RAM truck is much higher, and right now we've got great deals waiting for you at Viva RAM. Come on over to our showroom at 860 Telshor Blvd in Las Cruces to find yours today!
