The iconic Dodge Charger is the
final holdout of a dying breed. As a rear-wheel-drive, mid-priced, Detroit-bred
full-size sedan, it doesn't have any true rivals, although its cousin, the
Chrysler 300, provides a comparable size with more luxury. There are some other
mid-size sedans still on the market, but none of the Charger's original
competitors from the U.S. are in the running. Despite being somewhat outdated
in terms of design, the 2022 Dodge Charger near El Paso, TX is still
a good buy and can be had in a myriad of configurations, along with crazy
power.
What's New for 2022?
Essentially unchanged from last
year's model, the only real difference is a significantly improved security
system. This includes a vehicle inclination sensor, a glass break sensor, and an
interior motion sensor. The system will come standard on R/T Scat Pack, SRT
Hellcat, and SRT Hellcat Redeye models and can be added to SXT, SXT AWD, GT, GT
AWD, and R/T models by choosing the Driver Convenience Group package.
The company says the eight
above-listed trims will be offered for the 2022 model year, but that doesn't
include Widebody or Daytona packages. The optional widebody package is offered
on the R/T Scat Pack, while the wider body comes standard on Hellcat and
Hellcat Redeye models. Additionally, the R/T and R/T Scat Pack versions can be
upgraded with the Daytona package, creating even more exclusive configurations.
And finally, the big news is the
2022 Dodge Charger SRT Jailbreak! These SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody trim
variants will allow buyers to order a variety of never-before-available
combinations to truly customize their Charger! The Jailbreak Chargers (and Challengers!)
will also get a powertrain recalibration that pumps up their output to an
insane 807 horsepower!
The Finishing Touch
Countless customizations can be made
with five options for badge finishes, 12 different paint colors with a variety
of stripes and color combinations, six different color choices for the Brembo
brake calipers, and seven different rim styles (with various finishes) to
complete your look.
But the options aren't only for the
exterior! There are five different seat colors/coverings selections, plus four
distinct seatbelt colors. You can also choose either an Alcantara® or leather
steering wheel wrap and then finish up your creation by selecting one of the
four different console trim finishes.
But wait, there's more! With available
customizations for the rear spoiler, stripe designs, and floor mats, you can
personalize almost every angle of the Jailbreak model. You can even choose
chrome or black nickel chrome finish for your exhaust tips!
Engine Choices
Of course, the 2022 Dodge Charger near El Paso, TX is
available with a V6 engine or your choice of three different V8s, and all are
paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Horsepower ranges from 292 and
260 lb-ft of torque in the SXT, all the way to the supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi
with 797 (or 807 for the Jailbreak) with 707 lb-ft of torque!
