2021 Jeep Wrangler near Rio Rancho NM Combines Design and Style

In an era when SUVs have become the go-to family vehicle, the Wrangler is a throwback to more rugged and rougher off-road vehicles. The 2021 Jeep Wrangler near Rio Rancho NM combines modern design with classic style, making it an outstanding SUV.

The Jeep Wrangler is the original go-anywhere, do-anything vehicle that still keeps the spirit of the original military Jeep of World War II. It may not be as comfortable as some rival SUVs, but in response it provides excellent off-road capability, two-door or four-door configurations, and a unique removable top.

ENGINE

Since the 2021 Jeep Wrangler near Rio Rancho is largely unchanged under the hood, it keeps the   engine choices from the 2020 model year. This means that the line-up starts with the standard 3.6 liter V6 Pentastar, which delivers 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Along with the standard 6-speed manual and standard four-wheel drive, it also comes with an optional 8-speed automatic.
The mid-range motor is an optional 2.0 liter turbo-4 that produces 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The best of the three is the turbocharged 3.0 liter diesel V6 putting out 260 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. This engine is the best bet for those who take their Wranglers off the road regularly. Also optional for the V6 and V4 is an e-torque system that assists in torque lower down.

However, the big news is the prospect of a plug-in hybrid Jeep Wrangler for 2021. First showcased at the 2020 Consumers Electronics Show, this new PHEV will be called the Wrangler 4xe (say "four by e"). It's still unclear if it will be paired to the V6 or the 4-cylinder motors. The PHEV should have an all-electric range of about 33 miles.

FUEL ECONOMY

As you might expect from a pure-bred off-road vehicle, the 2021 Jeep Wrangler near Rio Rancho NM has average fuel economy. Expected city mpg is 17, highway is 25, and combined is 20. So, if fuel economy is at the top of your list, then the diesel engine is the way to go. The four-door versions and the automatic versions may also drop an mpg or two from the V6 figures.

2021 JEEP WRANGLER NEAR RIO RANCHO NM: EXTERIOR

There are bigger but lighter aluminum panels on the body, and the grille on the front looks new, but it's actually just a tweaked version of the existing grille. The wheel flares have been adjusted, which in turn makes the wheels look really good. The lighting has been updated as well, and the whole look is a massaged one from last year's model.
The styling of the Wrangler is inspired by American war folklore; the general design of the Wrangler hasn't changed in decades, so for current times, it embodies the perfect neo-retro blend.

INTERIOR

Don't expect the 2021 Jeep Wrangler near Rio Rancho NM to compare to the Jeep Grand Cherokee when it comes to comfort, but it's still a lot better than the Wranglers of the past. The interiors are utilitarian, but remember, this is a real SUV. The shoulder and legroom are adequate, bit more room would be better. The cabin is quite high from the ground so there are cool door handles provided to step into the cabin. For rear passengers, the 4-door models are obviously the better bet.

The front seats are very supportive and adjustable lumbar support comes as standard. Cloth upholstery is standard and leather can be had as an option. Thanks to a lower dashboard, the visibility is excellent, there's ample headroom all around, and the quality of materials used along with the sound deadening is the best it's been for years.

The steering is leather-wrapped with mounted audio controls, new circular air vents are better placed, and the climate control interface looks a lot sleeker.  New generation touchscreens are now in the 2021 Jeep Wrangler near Rio Rancho NM which include 5-, 7-, and 8.4-inch infotainment touch screens where Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard in the latter two. USB ports are scattered throughout, and an available 9- speaker Alpine Premium Audio System provides an outstanding audio experience. It comes complete with an overhead soundbar, all-weather subwoofer, and 553-watt amplifier.

SAFETY

Some of the advanced safety equipment like optional automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert and rear parking sensors were optional features for the 2020 Wrangler and are expected to be made standard in more trims for 2021. Along with these, various impressive safety features in the 2021 Jeep Wrangler near Rio Rancho are:

Dual-Stage Driver And Passenger Front and Seat-Mounted Side Airbags
Electronic Stability Control(ESC) with Roll Stability Control
ABS And Driveline Traction Control
Side Impact Beams
Adaptive Cruise Control
Blind Spot Monitoring System
Tire Specific Low Tire Pressure Warning
Park view rearview camera

Although the base model is pretty basic with features, it still has impressive off-roading capabilities. If you like tech and can afford it, opt for the higher trims which have a lot more tech. No matter which trim you like, the 2021 Jeep Wrangler near Rio Rancho NM is expected to launch by fall 2020. Drop by Viva Jeep to check it out in person.
