2021 Chrysler Pacifica near Rio Rancho NM is the Perfect Minivan

Minivans get good gas mileage, are great at hauling people and cargo, and are usually better than SUVs and crossovers in accomplishing their tasks. Discover why the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica near Rio Rancho NM is at the top of the minivan list.

The Pacifica is a well-designed, comfortable family van, and its enthusiastic driving dynamics are the cherry on top. Both a standard V-6 engine and a plug-in hybrid powertrain are offered, and each seems to be reasonably fuel efficient. The second and third row seats fold completely flat to convert the Pacifica into a spacious cargo van, which makes it perfect for hauling large items. The Pacifica's basetrims were relaunched as the Voyager for 2020 and continue as such for the 2021 models.

Those awesome Stow 'n Go standard seats in the second and third rows are one of the features that contribute to the Pacifica's standout status by folding flat into the floor. This provides more than enough cargo room for most drivers. Even with the seats in place, storage bins beneath the seats give occupants extra storage space. Unfortunately, the hybrid version doesn't accommodate the Stow 'n Go seats.

Drivers can choose between second row bench seats (to seat up to 8) or captain's chairs (to seat up to 7), however, the hybrid model comes with only the seven-seater option. Unlike most three-row vehicles, the third row is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate adults.

What's New for 2021?

The overall appearance of the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica near Rio Rancho NM does look more like an SUV, thanks to the flatter front end and traditional grille set-up, but the sliding side doors stay put, keeping the unrivaled family utility of a minivan. The new front end has a more aggressive look that Chrysler says is inspired by SUVs. At the rear, LED tail lamps extend from side to side and are enclosed in a glossy black housing. The company is also offering a choice of six new wheel designs. The addition of an all-wheel drive option is a bonus, and the fact that Chrysler managed to pack an advanced AWD system into the existing platform without losing any of the Stow 'n Go seating is outstanding.

The formerly optional advanced safety features (such as forward collision mitigation and adaptive cruise control) now come standard. The styling tweaks at both ends have resulted in an overall smoother look, with the LED exterior lighting for the entire trim range. A FamCam interior monitor is now available along with Amazon Alexa compatibility, TomTom navigation, and USB-C ports. Additionally, the Pacifica is the first Chrysler vehicle to get the new, Uconnect 5 infotainment system. It brings a 10.1-inch touchscreen as standard, but a 12.3-inch screen is available as well. The 2021 Pacifica collectionpeaks with a new Pinnacle trim level.

Performance

It's not the quickest minivan out there, but the front-wheel-drive 2021 Chrysler Pacifica near Rio Rancho NM is far from sluggish (reaching 60 mph in 7.3 seconds) and feels suitably frisky around town. With the 3.6-liter V-6 and 9-speed automatic transmission it packs a 287-hp. The hybrid model delivers 260 hp from its 3.6-liter V-6 and two electric motors backed up by a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery. In testing, its zero-to-60-mph time trailed the gas-powered model by a mere half second.

In addition to being efficient with available space, a minivan should also be fuel efficient. Though the EPA has not yet evaluated the 2021 Pacifica, we expect fuel economy to be similar to that of the 2020 model with estimates of 19 mpg in the city, 28 mpg on the highway, and 84 MPGe combined for the hybrid model. These are good ratings for the minivan segment and are on par with the Honda Odyssey.

Chrysler makes the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica near Rio Rancho NM in four trim levels: Touring, Touring L, Limited, and Pinnacle. All four models have the 3.6-liter V6 engine, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available in every trim.
