When Will it Arrive?
The XLH hybrid electric drive system is available right now for specific RAM 2500 and 3500 models with the 6.4-liter V8 engine and a broad array of cab configurations, wheelbases, and drivelines. It features a high-efficiency lithium-ion battery, inverter, and electric traction motor, which thrusts the truck forward while accelerating, and traps energy through regenerative braking while decelerating.
Just like the rest of the XLH hybrid-electric up-fit applications, the system does not need external power or charging infrastructure to work, and all OEM warranties remain secure and unaffected. The XLH arrangement includes XL Fleet's basic 3-year, 75,000-mile warranty, along with other available warranty options. The systems are currently offered on a wide variety of Class 2-6 vehicles from Chevy, Ford, GMC, and Isuzu.
During the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Event in Long Beach, California, on August 31-September 1 of this year, XL Fleet displayed an XLH hybrid-equipped RAM 2500.
