Time is Running Out for Some 2023 Viva Dodge New Cars in Las Cruces, NM

The new year will mark the end of an era for 2023 Viva Dodge new cars in Las Cruces, NM, as the automaker prepares next-generation models. The 2023 models will be the last of these iconic muscle cars as we recognize them, but the SUV of muscle, the Durango, and the new Hornet CUV will continue to be offered beyond 2023. What will be joining the lineup is still a mystery, but let’s look at what’s on offer for 2023.

2023 Viva Dodge New Cars in Las Cruces, NM: Challenger

With the end of the current Challenger line, Dodge is taking cues from its history. All 2023 Challenger models will sport commemorative aluminum badges under the hoods, and new 345 badges will grace the front fender of R/T models with the 5.7-liter (345 cubic inch) V8. Three exterior colors from the past will also return for 2023: B5 Blue, Plum Crazy, and Sublime (Green), while a newer paint option, Destroyer Grey, also returns. Another final year treat will be the expanded Jailbreak customization option for regular Challenger Hellcats, along with the Hellcat Redeye models.

The stars of the show, however, will be the “Last Call” special-edition models inspired by Dodge’s illustrious heritage. Seven (between the Challenger and Charger) new limited-edition “buzz” models and a few different appearance packages will pay homage to the end of an era. For the Challenger, these include:

  • Shakedown Special Edition
  • Black Ghost Special Edition
  • Widebody Swinger Special Edition

2023 Dodge Charger

As things wind down for the Challenger, the same goes for the four-door Charger. The identical “Last Call” plaques will be installed under the hood of every 2023 Charger, with the vehicle name and a silhouette. As a nod to their origin, the plaques will also say “Designed in Auburn Hills” and “Assembled in Brampton.” The 5.7-liter Charger will get the 345 badges as well. The additional paint colors will be offered for the Charger, too, as will the Jailbreak customization options.
The heritage-inspired special editions of the Charger include:

  • King Daytona Special Edition
  • Super Bee Special Edition
  • Scat-Pack Widebody Swinger

The seventh and final Last Call model was supposed to be introduced at the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas in November. But according to Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis, this one has been delayed because they keep blowing up engines while trying to achieve more power! However, the company has apparently solved the problem and plans to reveal the car in the first quarter of 2023.

With all the excitement of special edition models, it shouldn’t be overlooked that the regular lineup of Challengers and Chargers will still be available.

Durango Models

Even though the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat was to be a one-time offering back in 2020, the company has brought it back for the 2023 model year. Under its hood is the same 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 that puts out 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque, which gets it from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and does the quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds! To stop this beast from its 180-mph top speed, six-piston, two-piece front calipers are fitted over 15.8-inch front rotors, and four-piston calipers fit over the 13.8-inch vented rear rotors.

The other five iterations of the Durango will also be available for 2023, beginning with the base Durango. It has a 3.6-liter V6 that delivers 293 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Maximum towing capacity for this one is just 6,200 lbs, but if you need more oomph, there are two V8 engines from which to choose: the 5.7-liter V8 makes 360 hp with 390 lb-ft, or the 6.4-liter V8, which provides 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.

The New Hornet

With room for five passengers, the all-new Dodge Hornet is the most potent CUV in its class. The entry-level all-wheel-drive GT model puts out 265 hp from a turbocharged inline 4-cylinder, and the R/T trim is a PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) delivering 285 hp and over 30 miles of all-electric driving.

The Hornet is not only the first hybrid powertrain for Dodge, but also boasts the most technology. A digital instrument cluster, auto emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection, and an all-new UConnect 5 infotainment system are just a few of its amenities.
