Meet the 2024 Jeep Gladiator in Las Cruces, NM

When the Jeep Gladiator debuted in 2019, it was one of the most interesting things to happen to the pickup truck segment in quite a while. There aren’t many pickups out there that can offer everything a driver desires. Some provide excellent workhorse qualities, but the interiors may be lacking, or the ride may not be as entertaining. Other trucks may be luxurious but can’t handle going on off-road adventures.

But now there’s the Jeep Gladiator. It brings everything Jeep Wrangler fans love about the classic SUV, with all the practicality and utility of a pickup truck, with a handy bed design accompanied by strong payload and tow ratings. Step inside, and you’ll enjoy an easy-to-live-with, nicely trimmed cabin with a roomier back seat than most rivals. What’s more, it’s the ONLY convertible pickup truck you’ll find. And it recently won a spot on Car and Driver’s 10 Best List! If this combination sounds good to you, you’ll want to check out the 2024 Jeep Gladiator in Las Cruces, NM, which is coming soon to Viva Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM FIAT.

What’s New for 2024

This unique truck is due for a significant update, and 2024 will be the year for it. Although we don’t expect any significant design changes, perhaps some slight restyling of the running lights or bumpers, there could be some changes underneath. The arrival of the plug-in hybrid Gladiator 4xe is undoubtedly the most anticipated update we’ve all been waiting for, and will happen for this model year.

The regular Gladiator is almost as heavy as the Wrangler 4xe, so a PHEV powertrain would be needed to accommodate the truck’s heavier mass and some measure of its healthy towing abilities (up to 7,700 lbs. with the gasoline-powered engine). The current Wrangler 4xe utilizes a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with dual electric motors and a 17-kWh battery pack to produce 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. A hybrid Gladiator configuration would likely need torque closer to 500 lb-ft or more. Whatever its capacities, a plug-in setup will help improve the Gladiator’s less-than-ideal fuel efficiency.

The remainder of the powertrain options will continue as they have been, with base models equipped with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that delivers 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. There’s also the optional EcoDiesel powertrain which produces about 260 hp and 440 lb-ft of twist.

If you enjoy a stick shift, the base engine is still available with a 6-speed manual, or choose the 8-speed automatic transmission. The turbodiesel is paired only with the 8-speed automatic.

You can also count on there being a variety of different models, of which the Rubicon is the most well-known. It comes with many off-road features, including heavy-duty shock absorbers, lower gearing, skid plates, locking front and rear differentials, rock rails, 33-inch all-terrain tires, and more.

Inside the 2024 Jeep Gladiator in Las Cruces, NM

Because the 2024 Wrangler received a redesigned dashboard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, we expect the Gladiator to debut with a larger display. The round AC vents were replaced with horizontal ones below the screen, and the passenger-side grab handle was repositioned to make a more aesthetic look in the Wrangler, so it’s highly likely the Gladiator will follow suit. An upgrade to the most recent UConnect 5 infotainment system is probable, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the inclusion of the Trails Offroad digital guide is highly likely.

The overall layout of the cabin will likely remain the same, although redesigned seats could make their way into the new Gladiator. Plenty of passenger space awaits you, with room for five, and adults will fit comfortably, even in the rear seats. Plenty of safety and driver-assist tech comes standard, as well.
