New Dodge Vehicles Las Cruces, NM: Muscle Cars

When you think of Dodge, muscle cars undoubtedly come to mind. The Challenger and Charger have stood as two icons of American muscle, embodying raw power and breathtaking performance for years. Although both are being phased out for new models, you can still snag a 2023 model. However, the latest models will soon arrive!

For 2024, the brand is revamping the Charger with an all-new electric powertrain. Expected to launch at the end of this year, the Charger Daytona R/T and Charger Daytona Scat Pack will be the first BEV muscle from Dodge. Both have 335 horsepower (250 kW) electric motors in the front and back with 314 lb-ft of torque. The base R/T trim puts out 496 hp, and the Scat Pack has 670 hp with an estimated 627 lb-ft of instant torque!

At launch, the Daytona R/T Stage 1 has an estimated 317 miles of range, and the entry-level R/T should yield an even higher range. With a 183-kW top charging rate, it should only take about 33 minutes to juice the Charger Daytona back up to 80 percent.

However, if you thought ICE muscle was gone for good, you are in for a surprise! The company is reintroducing gasoline powertrains for the new Chargers, just not the legendary HEMI V8. The gas-powered version will be known as the Charger Sixpack. It will be available in two variants of the Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six already being used in the 2025 RAM 1500, Jeep Wagoneer, and Grand Wagoneer. One will have a “standard output” of 420 hp (same as the Jeep and RAM), while the Charger Sixpack H.O. (high output) will be beefed up to 550 hp for muscle-car duty! Torque has yet to be revealed.

What About the Durango?

Because SUVs are still the most sought-after vehicles in America, Dodge is actively upping its game in that segment. The sporty Hornet compact SUV was recently added to the lineup, offering a spunky AWD turbocharged 4-cylinder with 268 hp and a 9-speed automatic transmission. Although its cabin is a bit smaller than some rivals like the Honda CR-V, its handling and driving experience puts the fun back in the driver’s seat. A long list of standard features, including the excellent UConnect 5 infotainment system, a digital gauge cluster, and many driver-assist features, add to the Hornet’s appeal.

But the big news is the upcoming Dodge Stealth. Not to be confused with the Stealth of the 1990s, which was a sports car, the new Stealth is the three-row successor to the Durango. Rumors indicate the Durango may not be retired, but could be reborn as a full-size SUV to match the Jeep Wagoneer. Not much is known at this time, but we’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
